Huge credits to :iconarminius1871: that did all the basemap and the rendering work.

Follow up of our collab with :iconarminius1871: about a surviving Frankish Empire (arminius1871.deviantart.com/ar…). It's a facsimile of an educational linguistic map. It represent all the Vernacular languages spoke in the empire and the lingua francas used in the different areas by golden doted lines. In the west they use a Oilic Romance variety called 'Roman' or 'High-Roman' and in the east a Low-Middle German variety called Frankish.
Poland and Hungary being vassals of the Empire instead of strictly inside it, they use officialy their own languages.
In Italy, a lombard variety is used as lingua franca along Frankish and High-Roman.

In case you're wondering, i didn't do the infobox bordure entirely by myself, there's a premade bordure you can do in Adobe Illustrator.
